Optimality Criterion for Progressive Type-II Right Censoring Based on Awad Sup-entropy Measures
Abstract
Censored sampling arises in life-testing experiments whenever the experimenter does not observe the failure times of all units placed on a life-test. There are several censoring schemes that have been discussed in literature. In this paper we consider Type-II progressive right censoring scheme where the unit life-times follow Pareto distribution with shape and scale parameters ( , ). A new optimality criterion is suggested; it depends on maximizing the efficiency of censored samples based on Awad sup-entropy measures. We find that the optimal censoring scheme is a one step censoring.
